Popular items from the 1940s through the 1960s, pennants have since given way to T-shirts and other mass-produced collectibles at souvenir stands. For some tourists, adding such a souvenir to their collection can be more pleasurable than the trip itself. These pennants were collected by an American family during their travels and donated to the Smithsonian in 1977.
